Tervetuloa opiskelemaan Taideteolliseen korkeakouluun! Tässä lista asioista jotka uuden opiskelijan on syytä hoitaa ennen opiskelun alkua ja syksyn aikana, jotta kaikki sujuisi hyvin.
Ennen koulun alkua:
Ilmoittaudu läsnäolevaksi opiskelijaksi WebOodissa ja maksa samalla AYY:n jäsenmaksu. Säästä jäsenmaksukuitti. Kun olet maksanut jäsenmaksun, voit tilata TOKYOn toimistolta opiskelijakorttisi tai hakea vanhaan korttiisi uuden lukuvuositarran. Liittyessäsi TOKYOn jäseneksi saat samalla korttiisi myös TOKYOn tarran ja kaikki jäsenedut käyttöösi.
AYY:n jäsenenä voit myös hakea ylioppilaskunnalta asuntoa. Varaudu kuitenkin pitkiin jonotusaikoihin. Kun muutat, muista tehdä muuttoilmoitus!
Hae opintotukea Kelasta. Muista tarkkailla tulorajoja, jos sinulla on muitakin tuloja! Opintotukeen on tullut vuonna 2011 paljon muutoksia, joihin kannattaa perehtyä.
Selvitä kulkuyhteys välillä koti-koulu. Reittiopas tunnistaa myös määränpäät “Taideteollinen korkeakoulu” ja “Taikki”
Muista myös liittyä TOKYOn ja AYY:n Facebook ryhmiin. Myös ainejärjestölläsi saattaa olla FB-ryhmä.
Syksyn alussa:
Hanki joukkoliikenteen matkakortti HSL:n palvelupisteeltä ja päivitä siihen opiskelijastatus elokuun loppuun mennessä. Opiskelijastatuksen päivitykseen tarvitset voimassa olevan opiskelijakortin.
Kysy rohkeasti tutoriltasi sinua askarruttavista asioista ja tutustu ainejärjestöösi jotta pääset mukaan oman alasi opiskelijoitten bileisiin ja toimintaan.

Welcome to the School of Art and Design! Here's a list of things all students should take care of before beginning their studies and during the fall. Membership of the Student Union AYY is mandatory for degree students.
Before beginning your studies:
Enroll to the university and pay the Student Union (AYY) fee using WebOodi. Once you have payed, keep the receipt, so that you can order your Student card. Ordering the card can be done at the office of the Student Association TOKYO. If you choose to join TOKYO as well, you will get a special sticker on your card wich gives you access to certain membership benefits and the design calendar.
As a member of the Student Union AYY you can apply for one of their flats. Be prepared for long queues however.
If you are a finnish citizen, you can apply for student financial aid from Kela.
Find out how to travel between your home and the school using the Journey Planner. The service recognizes the name of the school (Taideteollinen korkeakoulu) or its nickname (Taikki).
During the fall:
Once you have your student card, you can apply for the student priced bus ticket from Helsinki Region Transport's service points. Remember to bring your student card with you!
Don't be afraid to ask your student tutors for advice and get to know your student organizations to find out about your fellow students parties and activities.
Remember to join TOKYO's and AYY's Facebook groups. Your student organization may also have their own FB-group.
